What it does
- Paste a collection id (for example librivoxaudio), a search query or an archive.org address, or click the toolbar button while on an archive.org page.
- Tick the formats you want (VBR MP3, FLAC, PDF, EPUB, JPEG, plain text, Ogg) and an optional biggest-file size. Preview shows how many files match and their total size.
- Files get tidy names from the item details ("creator - date - title/filename", an editable template) and go into one subfolder of your Downloads folder.
- It reads archive.org public search and metadata data (JSON), not page scraping. Open-access items only: lendable and borrow-only items are skipped.
- Gentle on the site: two files at a time, and it waits and retries when archive.org asks it to slow down.
Free, and what is planned
It is free. Everything works today, including the editable file-name template. The only limit is 25 files a batch; you can run more batches with "Start at file number".
A paid licence is planned, not on sale: a one-time purchase, price not final, that would lift the 25-file limit so one batch can hold any number of files. Nothing requires payment today, nothing is charged or collected, and there is no checkout on this page.
Privacy
The add-on collects no data: no analytics, no accounts, no remote code. It only contacts archive.org and its subdomains.
